Biography
Thomas Gronenberg is a Munich-born cinematographer. He began his career in 2011 with an internship in the Lighting and Camera Department at ARRI Rental. From there, he went on to work on numerous productions as a camera assistant and later as a lighting technician.
In 2018, he followed his passion and enrolled in the renowned Łódź Film School in Poland to study cinematography. There, he trained under established European cinematographers and directors such as Ryszard Lenczewski, Paweł Edelman, Wojciech Staroń, and Radek Ładczuk.
His work has been showcased at international festivals, including the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, Nowe Horyzonty, and the Krakow Film Festival. He has collaborated with filmmakers from Poland, Sweden, and China, and his portfolio spans narrative films, documentaries, artistic and experimental works, as well as animation.
In 2025, he completed his first feature-length debut as a cinematographer.
